WaterBirds
A large collection of various species – one of my favourite subjects. Getting good images of waterbirds often requires a little dedication, if you are not getting wet and muddy – ask yourself why?
The best images are often taken from a low shooting angle, this could require lying in the mud and or water. I have been known to lie in duck poo to get just the right angle for a shot. With many of our Australian birds being white or partly white, the quality of the light is going to play a important part of the image making process.
Look for early morning or late afternoon opportunities, overcast days are a great favourite of mine as you can shoot all day without having to worry about harsh light.
